We are looking for Foster Homes!

  • Being a foster parent to an animal in need of a little TLC can be a very rewarding experience. Some of the homeless animals that come into our Shelter have a hard time adjusting to life at the Shelter while they wait for their new homes. By placing them in a foster home, it allows us to give an interested adopter a better insight into the pet's likes and dislikes, good or bad habits, and its ability to get along with children and other pets. When the animal is adopted out there is a less chance it will be returned to the Shelter for some underlying problem that would go undectected at the Shelter. There are many ways someone can foster an animal. If you are interested in helping, please call the Shelter at 773-1806, or send us an email requesting an application form to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Meow! My name is Levi and I love to talk, I have so many stories to tell! After coming into the shelter as a stray, I have come to realize how much I LOVE food, I get very excited and reach my arms out of my cage as far as I can when I know my food is coming, although I have manners and wont use my claws! Some people find me a little scary at first, I forget I am a cat and not a lion even though I have a mane, but I just love meeting new people, and I will make sure to get your attention. I keep hearing about going to a new home one day, I cant wait to find a family that loves me, I would love to be in a house where I can run around or curl up on a comfy bed! If your looking for a new friend, and you have lots of food, come meet me any day!

Pet 2

Calla Lily:

Calla Lily is a beautiful white cat with some grey markings around her ears. She is a super affectionate lady who absolutely adores all the petting she can get. She has a very well-developed purr machine and can turn it on at the press of a button ... all you have to do is rub or scratch her nose. She would love to be in a family home where there are lots of kids & people who would pet her all day long. Do you have a space for her in your home? We sure hope so!

Calla Lily is the mother of our "Lily" litter.

Pet 3

Thank you for stopping to read about me! I don`t usually like being the center of attention but I will tell you a little bit about myself ... I am a 6 year old Calico, I find it a little harder to adjust to shelter life, I just want to be in a warm home where I can stretch and relax! After having a cage to myself, I would like to keep in that way .... perhaps my own room with a "do not disturb" sign! If you treat me nicely I will do the same to you, but I am definitely the type of cat to stand up for myself. I am a neat and tidy cat with respect for boundaries, but every once in a while I will crawl onto your lap and remind you how much I love you!

Pet 4

Hi there ... I am Tomika! I am a very independent cat, I`m happy to be pet and cuddled but I also don`t mind being left to enjoy some time alone to relax. I am only 3 years old, but I am already set in my ways, I would much prefer to be in house with no other animals or children, I am not mean ... just an old lady at heart. I was abandoned, so I`m looking for people who are going to be forever loyal to me, I promise I will always be loyal in return. I am a unique cat, you wont find another like me. I am very proud of my calico coat but every so often I need help brushing it to keep it this sleek and shiny. Many of the other younger cats who are also at the shelter are known for being a "little" messier then most, but I take pride in keeping my cage clean, and just spend the day sleeping instead. Hopefully we can meet soon!

Pet 5

If you are looking for a fun and silly cat, you have found her! You can usually find me upside down, balancing on my head with my arms sticking out my cage. The lovely shelter staff hate to see us lonely and have found out I get along well with other cats, I just love to have someone to be silly with! Sometimes I am allowed to look out the window, I could spend all day watching what`s going out there but it looks very cold so I think I will stick to being an indoor kitty! I am the kind of cat that will investigate and find secret hiding spots, I would love to explore your house and find a warm bed where I can curl up and have a nap .. come down to the shelter any day to meet me!

Pet 6

This cute little grey & white fellow is Garth. At the moment he is sharing a kennel with his brothers, Lenny & Campbell. Just like any three young fellows living together, it`s party-time all day long in their kennel ... except for nap time, of course. All three of them are accomplished escape artists and love to lead the Staff on a merry chase. Garth is a very curious kitty and just has to sniff everything that comes near him. He also loves to be held and petted. He doesn`t even care if you hold him upside down as long as the cuddling continues. He is also full of purrs and would love to come to your house to show you what a great little boy he is. Is he the perfect kitty you`re looking for? Take him home for a visit ... we`re sure you`ll be very happy with your decision!

Reduced Adoption Fee

Garth is the eighth kitten in our "Singing Stars" litter.

Pet 7

Husky/Norwegian Elkhound

Fudge is a wonderful girl, one that you will be pleased to know.

Fudge is not a fan of young children, cats or dogs in her space. She likes to think that she is special enough to be the only one in your life & loves the attention! She has lived most of her life outdoors, but is house-trained to make the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor dog.

Fudge is a bigger girl who likes her exercise. She has quite a bit of energy, but is docile when it counts. She would be a great running partner, and will thrive from any attention given her way. She has a very sweet disposition and can`t wait for you to come in and meet her!

Pet 8

DELORAS IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE BUT SHE IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Please feel free to phone the Shelter to set up an appointment to meet her. We`re sure she would love to meet you!

Even though Deloras is a senior lady, she has still has lots of zip in her step and even reverts to her puppyhood occasionally. She adores kids & adults especially if they want to pet and cuddle with her. Your reward will be little kisses on your face. She has a sweet, gentle disposition and the soul of a small furry little angel. She likes to stay close to your side and would make the perfect companion dog. Deloras has been diagnosed with diabetes and requires insulin injections twice a day. They don`t bother her a bit. She gets an injection and outside she goes to play for awhile. Just like any senior, she often has a nice long afternoon nap. We would like to think that there is someone out there who could offer Deloras her retirement home. We think she deserves the very best the world can offer!
