Highway 4 bridge replace north of Cadillac underway
Highway 4 north of Cadillac is receiving major funding and attention from the province this year. Construction began last week on a $1.2 million project on the highway around 13 kilometres north of Cadillac to replace some aging infrastructure. Dan Palmer, a spokesperson for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, said the work entails replacing a bridge. "The bridge needed to be replaced because it was at the end of its life span," he said. A temporary detour is being constructed currently with the hope it will be opened to traffic by the end of next week. "There's going to be two-directional traffic lights and a single 4.3 metres wide lane," he said. According to the Highway Hotline, the province aims to complete the construction by October 24.
