We are looking for Foster Homes!
- Being a foster parent to an animal in need of a little TLC can be a very rewarding experience. Some of the homeless animals that come into our Shelter have a hard time adjusting to life at the Shelter while they wait for their new homes. By placing them in a foster home, it allows us to give an interested adopter a better insight into the pet's likes and dislikes, good or bad habits, and its ability to get along with children and other pets. When the animal is adopted out there is a less chance it will be returned to the Shelter for some underlying problem that would go undectected at the Shelter. There are many ways someone can foster an animal. If you are interested in helping, please call the Shelter at 773-1806, or send us an email requesting an application form to
To make a donation to the Swift Current SPCA visit them at 2101 Knight Crescent or at the SPCA Bookstore. You may choose to mail your donation to Swift Current SPCA at PO Box 1163, S9H 3X3.

Janice is now back at the Shelter after successfully raising 8 beautiful kittens. She is a gorgeous cat with a sleek, black fur coat and a little white spot on her chest. She was lucky enough to have her babies in a Foster Home and had a couple of wonderful humans who helped her all they could for 8 weeks. She is a pretty laid-back cat with a gentle disposition and we`re pretty sure she is looking forward to a little peace & quiet. She would make a great family pet who would ask for nothing more than being showered with affection. If you`re thinking of adding to your family, Janice would be a great choice! Janice is the mother of our "Singing Stars" litter.
Unaltered female, approx. age 2 years 0 months.
We`re pretty sure that Mabel is going to grow up to be a super-hero. As a baby, she could jump over the back of the couch in a single bound and untie your shoelaces faster than a speeding bullet. She is a fearless little girl who loves to explore and play with anything she finds interesting. She also has a cuddly side and is quite content to snuggle up under you chin. If you`re looking for a kitty to help you conquer the world then Mabel is the one for you!
Unaltered female, approx. age 4 months.
Copal didn`t have the luxury of getting a good start in life. When he came into the Shelter, he was a very sick little boy. The Staff worked very hard to help him get better and, with his fighting spirit, they have been successful. He loves to sit on your shoulder so that he can get a better view of the world. While he`s up there, you`ll get lots of snuggles and sometimes he sticks his little nose in your ear just to see if there`s anything in there. He has a huge purr machine and all you have to do is look at him to get it started. He is still quite small and delicate, so he should be in a home where he is the only cat in residence. Come down to the Shelter and meet him ... be prepared to fall in love!
Unaltered male, approx. age 5 months.
King Arthur is a true king in all respects. He likes to sit back & watch his subjects, but will join in with the play when he feels like it. Sometimes it takes him a while to get his little purr machine started, but all you have to do is bring on the food. The way to his heart is definitely through his stomach. A little tickle on his tummy and a little scratch behind his ears, and he`s all yours. This little fellow will fit into any household. Maybe you have a spot for him in yours!
King Arthur is the second kitten in the "Monty Pythons & The Holy Grail" litter.
Unaltered male, approx. age 15 weeks.
Lancelot is a very independent little boy. This little character is fearless and not afraid to experience new things. He loves to play with his toys and you would get a big chuckle out of watching him beat up his mouse. If he can`t find his mouse, he will chase any toy he can find. When he does slow down, he appreciates any cuddles & snuggles he can get. If you`re looking for a fast-paced playmate for your household, then Lancelot is the boy for you! We think you would have a lot of fun just trying to keep up with him.
Lancelot is the fourth kitten in the "Monty Pythons & The Holy Grail" litter.
Unaltered male, approx. age 15 weeks.
Reduced adoption fee
Our little Kristoff looks like he`s very sad, but he`s not really. He just uses that look to make you feel sorry for him ... then you can`t help but stop and play with him for a while. He absolutely loves people and other cats. He`s a relaxed, laid-back little boy who can be a little timid until he gets to know you. Once he does, you`ll be his friend for ever. His favourite toy is his little ball. He bats it around, with his cute little white paws, until he wears himself out and it`s time for a nap. He is patiently waiting for someone to take him home with them. Will you be the one who becomes his new play buddy?
Unaltered male, approx. age 13 weeks.
Bert, along with his brother Ernie, are as comical as the cartoon characters that they were named for. Bert is the older, and watchful one. Making sure that things are in order, and being sure to let you know when things are not as they should. He loves to give kisses, and is thrilled with all attention. His exuberant greeting usually leads to a few nibbles on your fingers to make sure you realize just how much he loves you!
Bert has been known to chase cats, but has always lived with other small dogs. He would enjoy a home with companionship and has been around elementary school aged children. He loves to run, and would require a fair amount of exercise to keep him happy!
Bert has moved around to a few homes before, through no fault of his own, and would absolutely love to enjoy a permanent place with a family. If you think you can offer this little man his happily ever after, come on in and meet him. We know that he is waiting for you!
Altered male, approx. age 5 years 2 months.
Ernie, along with his brother Bert, are as comical as the cartoon characters that they were named after. Ernie is willing to love you to the end of time, unconditionally. He literally cries with excitement when he receives a visit from anyone and is always welcoming to strangers. His pudgy little self can`t resist doing attempting to wash your face for you, in attempt to make everything all better.
Ernie seems to be a great all around dog, getting along with cats and dogs alike. We believe that he will be great around children of all ages, providing that they don`t mind being washed by his tongue now and then.
Ernie simply can`t wait for his forever family to come and find him so that he can shower them with love and attention. This little guy is so welcoming, you won`t believe your good fortune in finding such a wonderful addition to your family. Come to the shelter and meet this wonderful little boy who is so desperate to give away all of his love if you will only let him.
Altered male, approx. age 5 years 2 months.
