The Federal and Provincial Government announced up to $500 thousand dollars in funding for Canadian Western Agribition to support their work with international buyers and developing markets.

Saskatchewan is one of Canada’s leading agri-food exporters with international sales of $13.6 billion in 2017.

Provincial Agriculture Minister David Marit says it’s important to partner with Agribition noting that their plan for growth aligns with the government’s own goals.

“It’s important to partner with Canadian Western Agribition to really grow the industry on the export side and find new customers and deliver new products. When you look at what the University’s doing in research and technology and things changing. You look at what producers here in the Province of Saskatchewan are doing with new genetics and everything else like that; at the end of the day it’s satisfying a customer's needs.”

Under the funding agreement, Canadian Western Agribition will receive $100 thousand dollars in funding per year from 2018 to 2023.
