Climate change will be a key focus for the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) in 2021.

CFA President Mary Robinson commented on the issue.

"A huge challenge for all of us in agriculture in Canada is climate," she said. "We certainly are seeing the impacts of it and we need to view that as an opportunity for agriculture. We know that we are a big part of the solution to that challenge. As we look at how the federal government is going to approach it, I think we need to be there arm and arm with government, figuring out how we can best reward all of the fantastic efforts that are being done to sequester carbon and reduce emissions and all the other good stuff that agriculture has been doing for a while now and not getting any credit."

Robinson notes agriculture is big part of the solution and farmers should be receiving financial incentive for what they're doing.
