Saskatchewan people are known for their generosity when it comes to giving and helping others.

Farm Credit Canada is sending out a huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Drive Away Hunger Campaign.

FCC’s Manager of Community Investment Carla Warnyca says nationally they brought in enough food to feed 6.7 million meals at food banks.

She says we should be proud of our efforts here at home.

"We have amazing partners in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In Saskatchewan, they raised over 815 thousand meals and in Manitoba over 298 thousand meals were raised there," Warnyca said.

The Swift Current area raised about 176 thousand meals, Weyburn around 20 thousand, Humboldt raised over 13 thousand, Moose Jaw and Kindersley raised over 11 thousand meals while Rosetown came in at almost 11 thousand.

Warnyca wanted to reiterate a thank you to everyone for helping out.

"A huge thank you to all the schools, community groups, businesses, and agriculture producers that supported FCC Drive Away Hunger once again. We absolutely couldn't put this together without, we are so grateful for your generosity and for giving so much for those who are hungry while offering what you grow to help those in need," she said.

She notes 100% of the donations go directly to the local Food Bank where the donations came in.
