We are looking for Foster Homes!
- Being a foster parent to an animal in need of a little TLC can be a very rewarding experience. Some of the homeless animals that come into our Shelter have a hard time adjusting to life at the Shelter while they wait for their new homes. By placing them in a foster home, it allows us to give an interested adopter a better insight into the pet's likes and dislikes, good or bad habits, and its ability to get along with children and other pets. When the animal is adopted out there is a less chance it will be returned to the Shelter for some underlying problem that would go undectected at the Shelter. There are many ways someone can foster an animal. If you are interested in helping, please call the Shelter at 773-1806, or send us an email requesting an application form to
To make a donation to the Swift Current SPCA visit them at 2101 Knight Crescent or at the SPCA Bookstore. You may choose to mail your donation to Swift Current SPCA at PO Box 1163, S9H 3X3.

When Mimi came into the shelter, she was a shy, scared little girl. She had also been in some kind of an accident and ended up with a split lip. She went to a foster home and her foster mom has been working on getting her to come out of her shell. Slowly, but surely, she is getting more & more comfortable with people. She lives with kids, cats and dogs so there are plenty of people and animals for her to play with. She will always be a sweet, quiet and gentle little lady - that just seems to be her nature. The way to Mimi`s heart is through her stomach ... she loves to eat! As soon as the food or treats come out, she`s there in a flash and her little purr machine turns on full throttle. We know there`s a perfect person out there somewhere for this perfect little kitty. Are you that person?
unaltered female, approx. age 4 months.
Tarzan spends a lot of time playing with his toys. When he is all played out, he curls up for a well-deserved nap. He is a very affectionate kitty whose little purr motor seems to be running all the time. He loves to be cuddled and will repay you with little kitty kisses. He spent a month in a great foster home with other cats, dogs and kids, so he is ready for anything.
Altered male, approx. age 6 months.
Date admitted to Shelter: Saturday Aug. 23, 2014
This cute little gal is the "snuggler" of the bunch. She likes nothing better than to lay in your arms while you pet her and tickle her tummy. She spent 6 weeks in a foster home with kids, cats & dogs, so she is ready for anything. If you`re looking for a kitty to sit on your lap while you watch the Rider games, then this is the girl for you!
Silk is the first kitten in our "Fabric" litter.
Unaltered female, approx. age 14 weeks.
This pretty little girl is a little shy & apprehensive (maybe it`s from having 4 brothers!). Once she gets used to you, she loves all the petting & snuggling she can get. She spent 6 weeks in a foster home with kids, cats & dogs, so she is ready for anything. She might just be the perfect kitty for your home!
Satin is the second kitten in our "Fabric" litter.
Unaltered female, approx. age 14 weeks.
Mocha is the curious one in this litter. He has to sniff everything or chew on anything new just in case it`s something he should know about. He doesn`t want to miss out on anything thing that might be a treat. He loves to sniff your face and if you`re lucky, you`ll get a little kitty kiss on the end of your nose. Do you have things at you house that need to be investigated? Mocha would love to come and help you out with that!
Mocha is the fourth kitten in our "Specialty Coffee" litter.
Altered male, approx. age 4 months.
Date admitted to Shelter: Wednesday Sep. 17, 2014
We bet you can guess how she got her name! Doesn`t she have the greatest looking ears? Just like a little pixy elf. Our Pixy is a quiet, patient girl who likes to sit at the front of her kennel and watch everything going on around her. That doesn`t mean that she doesn`t also have a playful side. It`s great fun to watch her beating up on her toy mouse. If you`re thinking of adopting a kitten, Pixy would be the perfect choice. Come down to the Shelter and meet her ... she`ll be waiting!
Unaltered female, approx. age 4 months.

Tilley is a sweet and wonderful lady, always ready for whatever love that you choose to give! She gets along with people of all ages, and you will never leave feeling unwelcomed. She has a wonderful temperament and quite a bit of energy for a lady of her years, leaving her with very positive prospects for a new home!
Tilley does not like cats, and should not be placed in a home where they are around. She also believes in lots of exercise and will sometimes take herself for walks if she is not in a properly fenced yard. She is classified as a senior, but you would never guess it by watching her in action.
Tilley is a wonderful girl deserving of a second chance. She is a great companion dog and will make anyone feel like the luckiest family in the world to have her around. Come and fall in love with this gal!
Altered female, approx. age 8 years 0 months.
Fudge is a sweet and wonderful girl, one that you will be pleased to know. She is always very excited to meet new people and always appears as if she is trying to jump out of her skin with joy.
Fudge is not a fan of cats or dogs in her space. She likes to think that she is special enough to be the only one in your life. However, she is great with children, and loves the attention that they can give her. She has lived most of her life outdoors, but is house-trained to make the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor dog.
Fudge is a bigger girl who likes her exercise. She has quite a bit of energy, but is docile when it counts. She would be a great running partner, and will thrive from any attention given her way. She has a very sweet disposition and can`t wait for you to come in and meet her!
Altered female, approx. age 5 years 0 months.
