We are looking for Foster Homes!

  • Being a foster parent to an animal in need of a little TLC can be a very rewarding experience. Some of the homeless animals that come into our Shelter have a hard time adjusting to life at the Shelter while they wait for their new homes. By placing them in a foster home, it allows us to give an interested adopter a better insight into the pet's likes and dislikes, good or bad habits, and its ability to get along with children and other pets. When the animal is adopted out there is a less chance it will be returned to the Shelter for some underlying problem that would go undectected at the Shelter. There are many ways someone can foster an animal. If you are interested in helping, please call the Shelter at 773-1806, or send us an email requesting an application form to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Pet 1

Chirp:

Chirp is all dressed up in her "tuxedo", but so far she doesn`t have any place to go. This is one talkative little kitty. She likes to tell you everything that is going on in her life and is very good at giving you advice when you ask for it ...or even if you don`t. She is a very active and playful girl with a huge purr that rivals the sound of a diesel truck. If this is the kind of kitty you`ve been looking for, come down to the Shelter and say "Hello"! We know she`ll answer you!

Unaltered female, approx. age 4 months.
Size: Small

Pet 2

Momma Cat:

This beautiful adult tortie is all finished with looking after babies and is now looking for a new home where she can enjoy some peace & quiet. She is a very gentle cat who likes nothing better than being petted. She`s not very fussy about being picked up and held, but she would love to sit in your lap while you rub her tummy. She is not a demanding girl, but instead waits patiently for someone who will lavish her with all the attention she deserves. If you have a spot at your house for Momma Cat, we know she would be the perfect cat to fill it. Come out to the Shelter and meet her. We`re sure you won`t be disappointed!

Altered female, approx. age 2 years 1 month.
Size: Medium

Pet 3

Silk:

This cute little gal is the "snuggler" of the bunch. She likes nothing better than to lay in your arms while you pet her and tickle her tummy. She spent 6 weeks in a foster home with kids, cats & dogs, so she is ready for anything. If you`re looking for a kitty to sit on your lap while you watch the Rider games, then this is the girl for you!

Silk is the first kitten in our "Fabric" litter.

Unaltered female, approx. age 14 weeks.
Size: Small

Pet 4

Satin:

This pretty little girl is a little shy & apprehensive (maybe it`s from having 4 brothers!). Once she gets used to you, she loves all the petting & snuggling she can get. She spent 6 weeks in a foster home with kids, cats & dogs, so she is ready for anything. She might just be the perfect kitty for your home!

Satin is the second kitten in our "Fabric" litter.

Unaltered female, approx. age 14 weeks.
Size: Small

Pet 5

Lyra:

We are still getting to know Lyra. Please check back later for an updated description.

Altered female, approx. age 1 year 1 month.
Size: Medium

Pet 6

Periwinkle:

When Periwinkle came into the shelter, he was a very sick little boy. Thanks to the loving care he received from the Shelter staff, he is all better now and ready for a new home. He is a very active young man who just loves to play and play and play. When you walk past his kennel, he reaches out his paws to see if he can catch you, so you will have to stop and play with him. Come out to the shelter and see if he is the perfect playmate for you!

Altered male, approx. age 4 months.
Size: Small

Pet 7

Tilley:

Husky/German Shepherd Dog
Reduced adoption fee

Tilley is a sweet and wonderful lady, always ready for whatever love that you choose to give! She gets along with people of all ages, and you will never leave feeling unwelcomed. She has a wonderful temperament and quite a bit of energy for a lady of her years, leaving her with very positive prospects for a new home!

Tilley does not like cats, and should not be placed in a home where they are around. She also believes in lots of exercise and will sometimes take herself for walks if she is not in a properly fenced yard. She is classified as a senior, but you would never guess it by watching her in action.

Tilley is a wonderful girl deserving of a second chance. She is a great companion dog and will make anyone feel like the luckiest family in the world to have her around. Come and fall in love with this gal!

Altered female, approx. age 8 years 0 months.
Size: Large

Pet 8

Fudge:

Husky/Norwegian Elkhound

Fudge is a sweet and wonderful girl, one that you will be pleased to know. She is always very excited to meet new people and always appears as if she is trying to jump out of her skin with joy.

Fudge is not a fan of cats or dogs in her space. She likes to think that she is special enough to be the only one in your life. However, she is great with children, and loves the attention that they can give her. She has lived most of her life outdoors, but is house-trained to make the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor dog.

Fudge is a bigger girl who likes her exercise. She has quite a bit of energy, but is docile when it counts. She would be a great running partner, and will thrive from any attention given her way. She has a very sweet disposition and can`t wait for you to come in and meet her!

Altered female, approx. age 5 years 0 months.
