It's Parks Week in Saskatchewan.
Parks Weeks helps raise awareness of park programs, facilities, and the province's natural, cultural, and historic resources.
Melody Nagel-Hisey, Park Area Naturalist for Cypress Hills Provincial Park, says they have a bunch of family activities planned for the week:
Nagel-Hisey adds, there are still misconceptions that the park is closed because of the flooding that hit the area in mid-June, but she says the park is fully functional:
Parks week continues through July 17th.
Meanwhile, Provincial Parks are continuing to see electrical upgrades at campsites. Electrical service is being added to campsites at Danielson and Douglas parks along the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, and Echo Valley Park in the Qu'Appelle Valley. Also, the Rainbow Campground at Cypress will have the existing electrical service improved at 69 campsites.
All of the campsites will be available for campers to use next summer.
