 The WHL's Kootenay Ice have named Kris Knoblauch as their Head Coach.  He's been an Assistant with the Ice the last three seasons.

 

 Knoblauch takes over for Mark Hollick who took a coaching job in the American Hockey League.  

 

  Also, a trade between Medicine Hat and Prince Albert.  Medicine Hat gets 18-year-old forward Ryan Harrison from the Prince Albert Raiders.

  The Raiders will receive prospects defenseman Austin Bourhis, who will turn 18 on July 31st, 17-year-old forward Todd Fiddler and future considerations.

  Harrison, a 5’ 10”, 185 lbs center from Kelowna, BC, placed fifth in team scoring for Prince Albert as a 17-year-old last season. He scored 14 goals and added 40 assists for 54 points while collecting 136 penalty minutes.
