The New Jersey Devils stepped it up last night despite missing thier regular season scoring leader Ilya Kovalchuk.

David Clarkson and Adam Larsson scored their first goals playoffs, while Travis Zajac and Bryce Salvador added goals as the Devils downed Philadelphia 4-1.

Kovalchuk missed the game with a lower-body injury.

The second-round series is now tied 1-1.

The Montreal Canadiens will hold a news conference later today to announce Marc Bergevin as the team's new general manager.

Bergevin, a Montreal native, will take over from the fired Pierre Gauthier.
