As she has all season, Taylor Lind continued to fill the stat sheet Wednesday night leading the Diamond Energy Female Midget ‘AAA’ Wildcats to a 4-0 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds.

The 15-year old rookie found the back of the net twice in Wilcox, while also adding an assist, making sure the Wildcats would not drop back-to-back games to the Hounds.

Lind’s two goals now gives her 16 on the season, which leads the Saskatchewan Female Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League, while her three point night gives her 24 this year, also a league best.

On the power play in the first period, Lind got the ball rolling for Swift Current beating Hounds goalie Kaitlyn Ross for a 1-0 Wildcats lead.

In the second, Lind was back at it, getting the puck past Ross for her second goal of the game.

Outshooting the Hounds 20-10, the Wildcats carried the 2-0 lead into the third period.

Just 39 seconds into the final frame, Wildcats’ captain Chloe Smith continued to build Swift Current’s lead, as she slid the Wildcats third goal of the game past Ross.

For Smith, the goal was her 9th of the season.

Swift Current did not stop there though.

The Wildcats kept the pressure on Notre Dame, which resulted in Kenedee Kleevegard scoring her second goal of the season, putting the Swift Current well out in front, 4-0.

Although not tested often, Harper Davey was there when needed for Swift Current in goal.

The first-year goalie stopped all 14 shots she faced to record her first career shut-out as a Wildcat.

With the victory, Swift Current jumps into fourth place in the SFMAAAHL standings with a record of 6-4-0-3.

The Wildcats and Hound will meet again two more times this weekend, which will round out their season series.

Swift Current will be back in Wilcox on Saturday before hosting the Hounds on Sunday.
