Team Saskatchewan is a perfect 2-0 at the 13U National Baseball Championship in London, Ontario.

After surviving a late scare from Rive-Sud earlier Thursday morning, Swift Current's Ethan Murdoch and Team Saskatchewan returned to the field and downed the host London squad 4-2.

In the earlier game, Saskatchewan held a 17-9 lead entering the bottom of the seventh but surrendered eight runs to tie the game and force extras, after narrowly escaping the inning, stranding the winning run at third with just one out.

However, after Team Sask. was able to respond with five runs in the top of the eighth, they came away with a 22-20 victory.

In the latter half, Saskatchewan scored three runs in the second and one more in the fifth to help secure the second straight win.

London managed to get the tying runs on base with two outs, but that was as close as they would get.

So far in the tournament, Murdoch is 1-7, however the lone hit was a momentum shifting three-run home run against Rive-Sud.

He has also scored twice and walked twice through two games.

Team Saskatchewan is back on the field Thursday afternoon to battle Nova Scotia squad, Atlantic.
