A local golf talent found her way on to the podium over the weekend.

Hannah MacNeil from Shaunavon captured the silver medal at the SHSAA provincial golf championship on Sept 23/24 at Madge Lake golf course.

The 36 hole tournament battled all the elements as the golfers faced a wet and soggy course on Saturday.

Hannah shot a 91 and an 87 for a two-day total of 178.

She finished nine strokes back of Moose Jaw Central's Ray-Lyn Schmidt who took the gold.

Meanwhile, SCCHS golfer Griffin Wilson had the best finish amongst Swift Current athletes, shooting a two-day 162 in the men's draw.

He finished 13 strokes back of the top spot.
