Some big names changed hands as the WHL trade deadline hit at 4pm Saskatchewan time on Tuesday. It wasn't as busy as some experts predicted, but Swift Current's East Division rivals in Moose Jaw, Regina and Brandon made major moves to bolster their lineup for the stretch drive.

The Broncos didn't factor into any blockbuster deals. They added 17-year-old winger Levi Bews and 18-year-old defenceman Eric Walker from the Vancouver Giants in separate deals for late round draft picks.

After adding centre Cam Braes from Lethbridge on Monday, Moose Jaw pulled the trigger on a deal with Vancouver for overage centre James Henry.

The 20 year old from Winnipeg comes to the Warriors with six goals and 41 points in 41 games so far this season. Henry has spent his entire five year WHL career with the Giants, playing in 281 games recording 62 goals and 184 points.

"We are very pleased to add James to our hockey club," said Director of Hockey Operations Alan Millar. "He is a proven forward in our league, who provides tremendous character and leadership to our group."

Headed to Vancouver are the Warriors second round pick in 2012 and their third round pick in 2014.

The move to pick up Henry left the Warriors with four 20 year olds, to get back down to three they traded Brett Lyon to Kelowna for a 7th round pick in 2013 and a 5th round pick in 2014.

Meanwhile, their rivals down the highway in Regina brought in an impact player of their own. In the face of rumours that the Pats could be shopping sniper Jordan Weal, Regina instead added defenceman and Edmonton Oilers draft pick Martin Marincin from the Prince George Cougars.

The deal included both Regina's 1rst and 2nd round bantam draft picks in 2012.

Brandon kept pace with the Warriors and Pats by landing maybe the biggest fish of the day. The Wheat Kings sent two players and a 1rst round draft pick to Victoria for WHL top ten scorer Kevin Sundher.
