Students of All Saints Catholic School lent a helping hand to the Children's Hospital Foundation Friday afternoon.

The school donated $2,081.85 towards the hospital that is currently under construction with an expected completion date in the spring of 2019.

Provincial engagement manager with Children's Hospital Foundation Sash Broda spoke about the donation from the Students of All Saints Catholic School.

"One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to go into the small communities and cities across the province and go into the schools where it's kids giving back to kids, which I think is the coolest part of this initiative," Broda said.

All Saints Catholic School student Kamryn Johnson has been part of the Student Leadership Council for past three years and shared her thoughts on the SLC's donation.

"It's really special to me because it's not fair to the kids that have to go to different provinces away from their families and friend to get the treatment they deserve to have close to them," she told SwiftCurrentOnline.

The money was raised through the Jammin' 4 Kids initiative, which saw kids from 25 schools provincially wear their pajamas to school to support sick kids across the province.

Grade eight members of the SLC at All Saints Catholic School FaceTimed Dr. Kris Milbrandt, a provincial Pediatric Surgeon in Saskatoon on Friday afternoon to learn about the impact of their fundraising efforts.
