At around 10 a.m. on Saturday the Herbert Fire Department responded to a motorhome on fire, 39 kilometres east of Swift Current on Highway 1.

The motorhome was driving when the back tire blew out, and when the owner got out to check the tire, the tire was on fire.

Traffic was delayed for over half an hour but now has resumed to normal.

The motorhome was destroyed in the fire, but the trailer that was carried behind the motorhome was left unharmed.

The owners are from Ontario and were travelling through the country on their way to New Mexico for the winter, and said that their passports were lost in the fire.

No one was injured, and there is speculation that dry wheel bearings were the cause of the fire. However, the fire remains under investigation.
