After two days of hard work the 7th Annual Pharmasave "Your Family's Health Radiothon" has come to a close. The goal this year was to raise $125,000 in order to facilitate the purchase of two new surgical beds and defibrillators for the surgical suites. At the close of the radiothon, a number of pledges totaled $98,091. Typically pledges continue to come in after the event from those who could not call in or want to make the donation in person.

Clay Thompson, Executive Director of the Dr. Noble Irwin Foundation said, “We set a goal of $125,000, we’re going to be very, very close to that by the time we finish up. We always get some people who come in later. When we close off a show we know that it is not all that is coming in, we generally get between $5,000 and $10,000 that comes in after a show, people who didn’t take the opportunity to call into the show and walk into the office and drop some cheques off.”

Once the goal of $125,000 is reached it will take between 4 – 6 weeks to have the equipment delivered. Installation should be fairly quick as there is little to hook up besides power.
