SaskTel will be increasing local service rates to most of their customers starting this winter.

Michelle Englot, the spokesperson for the Crown Corporation telling us that they've filed with the CRTC to up their rates starting February 1st, and plan to have more increases in June 2012 and June 2013.

"Customers will see this year an average increase this year between $1.18 and $1.90 per line," Englot says regarding what we could see in the hike.

Englot adds the increases will only affect customers in high-cost serving areas, which are essentially the areas outside of Saskatchewan's nine major cities.
