When Neil Fischer was asked to be the official Saskatchewanderer he thought, why not? Neil has the official title for 2016.

He has been traveling all over the province and has found that the people are very friendly and diverse. He has met people who have lived their entire life and never seen the grazing lands of the southwest or the boreal forest of northern Saskatchewan.

He has been around the southwest a few times and was shocked to find out that we are not flat as many believe.

"The Trans-Canada is the view of Saskatchewan that many people get as they pass through our province, but it really has so much more to offer.

With Cypress Hills Grassland Park and even the shores of Lake Diefenbaker, they're not flat - they are spectacular. It's so much fun to just walk through the coulees and climb those buttes and appreciate that."

Fischer feels that his time has been well spent traveling and promoting the different places Saskatchewan has to offer.

When asked about his thoughts of the Southwest he stated that people just have to get out there and see it in person.
