Stats Canada's workforce statistics are in for September.

The region of Swift Current and Moose Jaw has been marked with the lowest unemployment rate in the entire country once again this month, just as it was in August.

The rate, at 4.1%, sees the Southwest's rate increase 0.1% from September 2015.

As well, the labour force increased by 500 from this time last year.

The number of employed individuals in the region has also increased by 300 since 2015.

The low unemployment rate has been the trend in recent memory, despite the downturn in the economy due to the oil and natural gas industry.
