The Cypress Health Region and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency have collaborated to enhance Telehealth services.

According to a release by Cypress Health Region, the Southwest Integrated Healthcare Facility in Maple Creek was the recipient of the services.

Senior Medical Officer for Cypress Health, Dr. Ivo Radevski spoke in the release.

He says the greater involvement of primary care providers will ultimately allow patients to receive health services closer to home.

Last year more than 1000 patients in the region accessed Telehealth for appointments, saving nearly 500,000km of travel.

The Cypress Health Region has 28 Telehealth end points throughout southwest Saskatchewan.
