Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report is out and it shows provincially two per cent of the 2012 crop has been seeded. Stat’s show that seeding is ahead of last year and on target for the 5 year average.

Cropping Management Specialist Grant Mclean said rain over the past week has been delaying seeding activity in most areas, “It was a wide range anywhere from traces to over 50 millimeters. In many cases most of the areas particularly the southwest, west central, and northwest regions were indicating quite dry conditions in some cases received most of the precipitation.”

Mclean adds that so far two percent of the provincial crop is in the ground, seeding is most advanced in the southwest at six percent compared to the southeast at three percent, "Provincially seven percent of the pea crop, lentils next with three percent, and two percent of spring wheat and duram has been seeded today according to our reporters.”

This weeks Crop Report shows seeding is ahead of last year and on target for the 5 year average.
