Ag In Motion, the first outdoor farm show for Western Canada, is coming up next month at Langham.

The new show is being patterned after Canada's Outdoor Farm Show at Woodstock, Ontario, which is one of the top five outdoor ag shows in North America.

Doug Wagner, president of Canada's Outdoor Farm Show, says they wanted to build a farm show in the prairies based on live machinery and crop demonstrations in an outdoor setting.

"I think over time those three things plus all the goods and services that farmers and their families purchased to operate their farms, they're going to want to be here to see it, and we call it maybe eyeball to eyeball maybe three feet off the ground. You get to touch it, see it, feel it, type of thing, so we're offering all of those advantages to being in an outdoor venue for this type of a show."

Wagner adds they have been working in the Langham area over the last couple of months, and the excitement is starting to build.

"Have a chance to talk especially to the people that are growing the field crops because they actually started a little bit before we did, as soon as we had this show staked. They're actually quite excited that we're doing some sort of thing at this venue, because some of them have never had a chance to participate in something like this before. I can feel the hype building, and I always say we create hype because you need some hype to have a good ag trade show, but the hype is starting to build."

Ag in Motion runs July 21st to 23rd.
