Animal Protection Services of Saskatchewan is investigating what happened at the Shamrock Pasture.

Executive Director Kaley Pugh (as in Hugh) says an Animal Protection Officer has talked with the RCMP, Veterinarians and has visited the site and done interviews.

She says right now they are waiting on and test results from samples taken from the deceased animals that were taken as well as the water samples:

"What were are probably going to end up doing, in this case, is seeking official legal advice, as to whether charges are appropriate in this case," she said. "It's not a straightforward sort of a case of someone not feeding their animals, it's a bit of a complicated issue in this case."

She expects their investigation and decision on how to proceed will likely take some time, noting that they have a 6-month window from the date of the offence to proceed with Animal Protection Act Charges.
