The best of the best have been on display in the livestock shows and sales at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

There have been some very strong sales all week, according to Bruce Homquist, the Purebred Beef Chair at Agribition. He says some of the highlights from the sales on Thursday include the purchase of simmental heifer calves for $20,000 and $15,000 with buyers from the western provinces, Ontario and Quebec, and in the hereford sale, a bull calf went for $46,000 to a syndicate of 22 breeders.

This final day of the show will be highlighted by the RBC Beef Supreme Challenge, which Holmquist calls the grand finale of Agribition.

The RBC Beef Supreme goes this afternoon at 4:00pm in the stadium at EVRAZ Place.
