The Canadian Wheat Board decided this week to move ahead with a lawsuit against the Federal Government over the government’s plans to remove the boards single desk monopoly.

But Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz says CWB directors are only causing damage to Western Canadian farmers by launching the lawsuit, saying there's nothing new in the Board's arguments.
 
 
There’s dissention around the Board table over the lawsuit. Henry Vos, a CWB Director for District 1, has resigned from the board while another Alberta director, Jeff Nielsen, is not an applicant in the Board's lawsuit.

Meantime, the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association has announced it’s taking the Canadian Wheat Board and eight of its directors to court for what it calls the misuse of farmers' money.
