Funding applications are now open for the Co-op Community Spaces Program.

Natasha Ford is the Social Responsibilities Manager with Federated Co-operatives.

She says between $25,000 and $150,000 per qualifying project is available to help registered non-profit organizations with capital funding.

“We’re looking for groups that are interested in building places that are going to bring their community together.  We do have three funding categories that we’re looking for projects in and those are recreation, urban agriculture and environmental conservation.”

The program was launched in 2015 and has provided $6.5 million to 88 projects, including parks, greenhouses and sports fields.

In 2018 the East Side Community Association in Moose Jaw received $120 thousand to build a Spray Park.

The Humboldt Public School Community Council received $45 thousand dollars in 2017 for a playground renewal.

The Riverwood Outdoor Wellness Committee in Weyburn received $40 thousand dollars in 2017 to create an Outdoor Wellness Space

The Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation received $84 thousand dollars through the program in 2016 for their Welcome Home Campaign for the Meadows in Swift Current.

Applications are available here and close March 1st, 2019.
