Applications are now open for Farm Credit Canada's Agrispirit Fund.
Brenda Statiuk, FCC's Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, said the fund helps enhance rural communities in Canada, "We provide one million dollars in funding that is spread out in rural communitees right across the country and we support rural capital improvement projects.”
Statiuk adds that Agrispirit has helped fund things like playgrounds, recreation facilities, safety equipment, and even long-term care facilities, in communities in Saskatchewan and all over the country, “We started the program about nine years ago and we've almost spent about a million dollars in Saskatchewan alone, in 2011 we funded about twenty projects which if you do the math is quite a significant contribution,”
Communities with populations under 100-thousand people are welcome to apply for funding for their projects by going to agrispirit.ca.
