The discovery of CDC Triffid in some Canadian flax shipments going to Europe last year resulted in some serious challenges for the flax sector.

As a result, flax producers are being urged to have their seed tested before planting it this year.

It's part of an effort to clear up any concerns over the G-M variety that was deregistered back in 2001.

The Saskatachewan Flax Development Commission is holding a conference call for producers at 1:00pm Monday and Tuesday to give a full update on the situation.

All flax producers are encouraged to take part by calling 1-800-610-9767, toll-free.
