The Swift Current and Area Foodgrains Committee is extremely pleased with this years harvest.

The group has 2 growing projects; the Stewart Valley project and the Lone Tree Project.

Saturday the public joined in the harvest of the Lone Tree Project; 155 acres of Verona Durum that was delivered to Paterson Grain.  The yield ran 64 bushels an acre and graded #2 CWAD with 13% protein due to some frost damage that was found in it.

The Stewart Valley Project was harvested earlier bringing in 4200 bushels of #1 Canada Red Lentils.

The committee would like to thank everyone who helped with the two growing projects, the crops are donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank to help feed the worlds hungry.
