Farmers should be making some good progress with the harvest.

In his Golden West Radio Report Tuesday, Agri-meteorologist Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc. says we can expect to see another great week weatherwise with mostly fair conditions and basically perfect weather for crop maturation and harvesting this week. He adds there is no chance of rain before the weekend, and when we get into the weekend, we should only be likely to see some "spits and spats" of moisture.

Farmers are anxious to get the crop in the bin before any major frost events which can downgrade the crop.

Going into the weekend about 21% of the Provincial Crop was in the bin, that’s just ahead of the 5 year average of 20% complete and well ahead of last year's harvest when only 8% of the crop was done.

You can hear Drew Lerner's Agri-Weather report weekdays after the 6:30am News, and again during the Solar Outpost Southwest at Noon on Country Music Radio.
