The Swift Current and Area Foodgrains Committee is getting ready to harvest the Lone Tree Project on Saturday, and you’re invited.

Harvest is expected to get underway mid-morning with the grain moving right from the combine to the elevator. Chairman Robert Chapman says trucks have been lined up but they are still in desperate need of combines:

The 170 acre lone tree project is seeded to durum this year, and Chapman says it's expected to run about 50 bushels per acre, adding that they hope to be able to supply the Foodgrains Bank with one of their strongest donations they've ever had.

Proceeds from the sale of the grain goes to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank and is matched 4 to 1 by CIDA

If you can help with the harvest you can call Robert at 774-6804 or Troy at 774-9872.
