It was a late night on Parliament Hill as the Special House Of Commons Committee reviewing Bill C-18 heard from more witnesses.

Among them Swift Current's Stewart Wells, the CWB Director for District 3. He says the CWB’s presentation looked at how the board works and the process being used to push the legislation through.

He added that the Harper Government is mocking Parliament and Western Canadian farmers by trying to push the legislation through, saying that the government has invoked closure on the bill, and are giving it only a couple of hours of debate and hearings. He adds the government wouldn't let the legislation go to the Agriculture Committee, which would be the normal route, and they refuse to have any hearings in western Canada, which just compounds the ignorance that abounds in Ottawa about this issue.

The CWB has launched legal action against the Harper government as well as a multi-media “Stop the Steamroller” Campaign which asks Canadians to send a text message, which then generates a letter to MPs.
