A 25 year veteran of the department has been appointed as Saskatchewan’s new Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Rick Burton has Burton has a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics.

He served in various positions within the Ministry of Agriculture, including the Director of Crop Development Policy.

He was the ADM of Regulatory and Innovation and was the Ministry of Agricultures Assistant Deputy Minister of Policy since October of 2013.

Burton takes over the role on July 1st when Alanna Koch moves on to take on the role of Deputy Minister to the Premier.
