The National Farmers Union is not impressed that there has not been much of a focus on agricultural issues druing this Federal election campaign.

President Stewart Wells says the NFU is planning on an agricultural debate with the candidates, both nationally and locally.  He says there isn't anything in place at the moment, but they are making calls to see what they can get going nationally, and in a number of constituencies across the country.

Wells says right now, they are getting their policy position called "A Better Canadian Direction" published and sent to the parties.  He says there is no end to the issues that need to be addressed in order to give Canadians more confidence in their food supply.
