Work continues at the K+S Potash Canada Legacy Project at Bethune.

Company officials say once fully operational the facility will employ about 400 people.

Steffen Brill is the Senior Manager of Logistics and Transportation and says yesterday they received the first 177 custom built rail cars for the facility:

"It's a state of the art facility and allows us to load cars as quickly as possible and this was always the design criteria for the legacy project," Brill said.

"We are doing that to optimize our efficiency and our loading time at the legacy mine."

He expects production at the Bethune facility will begin in the second quarter of 2017 and should reach their 2 million tonne capacity mark by the end of 2017.
