The number of cattle moving through Saskatchewan Auction Marts dropped off from last week.

Canfax reported that 6,250 head of cattle were sold compared to over 11,000 head the previous week, but the Province’s Cattle Market Analyst Grant Zalinko is not surprised by the drop in the numbers.

Zalinko says Producers continue to see strong prices, with 850 pound yearling steers around $125 per hundred weight, heavier steers over 900 pounds at $118 per hundred weight and 800 pound plus heifers trading at $115.60 a hundred weight.
