Rain this week has delayed seeding activity in some areas.

Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly crop report shows 67% of the provincial crop is now in with 85% of the crop seeded in the South West.

"The most advanced is down in the Shaunavon, Consul and Robsart areas," said Provincial Cropping Management Specialist Grant McLean. "They're indicating 97% done, well in advance of where they were even a year ago at 86%."

In the southeast, 67% of the crop has been planted, 60% is seeded in East Central Saskatchewan and 65% is in for the West Central area. The northeast is reporting 51% progress and the northwest is 69% done.

Some challenges with fertilizer availability and delivery are being reported as well as some crop damage from pea leaf weevils.
