The Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association has a new format for its fall district meetings this year.

Chief Executive Officer Ryder Lee says the SCA manages the Cattle Check-off or the levy in Saskatchewan.

“The District Meetings give the organization a chance to go out to all eleven districts and tell people what we’ve been up to with their funds and what the board plans to do with them for the coming year. It’s also a chance to hear from producers about their thoughts and concerns on specific issues.”

He notes a key part of the meetings this year will be presentations on the new CAP program and what funding is available.

“The Canadian Agricultural Partnership program is for moving the industry forward and a lot are focused around animal care, bio-security, and water. I think people are pretty familiar with the Farm and Ranch Water Infrastructure Program. So there’s that and so many more things for people looking to do projects.”

The CAP program information starts at 5 with dinner at 6 and the district meetings and elections at 7 pm.
