An Agro-ecologist from New Zealand is the key presenter for a couple of soil health workshops being held in the Province.

Nicole Masters of Integrity Soils will give farmers more information on soil health and nutrient cycling.

"By the time people leave they will have more tool in terms of how do I soil health in a visual, sensual, type of terms," she said. "What does it look like, what does it smell like and what are we looking for.

"What does it tell us about microbiology, what does it tell us about nutrient uptake," Masters added. "We will be looking at water infiltration, just because it's raining doesn't mean water is going in, so some of the baseline measurements, so people can see if their ranch or crop operation is moving forwards or backwards."

One day workshops are planned for Mervin on June 27th and Swift Current on June 29th.
