Barefield

Warm weather has left many fields bare.

La Nina has given the prairies the cold, or rather, the warm shoulder this winter.

Bruce Burnett, Director of weather and marke analysis with the CWB, explains the most common question he's getting is why the impact of La Nina this winter is so different from last winter.

He explains arctic oscillation has kept the storm track in the higher latitudes, preventing cold air from dipping down into the prairies.

He says the arctic oscillation has broken down to neutral levels, meaning we should see more typical La Nina weather heading into spring.
