Farmers are looking for a stretch of hot, sunny weather to try and take off this year's hay crop.

Many producers are saying it's one of the best crops they've seen in years, especially in the southwest.  Provincial Forage Specialist Andre Bonneau says all of the moisture this year has resulted in an excellent hay crop in many areas.

Bonneau says producers should be cutting that hay crop at 20% to 40% flowering in order to get the best yield and quality.  He warns that the longer you wait into flowering, the lower the quality will be.
