Trading of Viterra's shares have been halted again this morning.

This morning Viterra confirmed it has begun exclusive negotiations with a third party and the basis of this exclusive negotiation is at a price which is consistent with their previous statement of approximately sixteen dollars Canadian per Viterra common share.

Viterra cautions investors not to rely on other reports adding there is no assurance that an agreement will result.
Viterra says a further announcement will be made if appropriate.

The company is weighing potential takeover offers from a list of firms that may include Glencore, Cargill, ADM, Bunge and other international grain companies.

There are also reports that Switzerland-based Glencore might have partnered with Canadian firms Richardson and Agrium in submitting a takeover bid.
