Cool wet weather continues to delay seeding activity in some areas of the province including parts of the southwest.

"Things are getting underway," said Shannon Chant, Regional Crop Specialist in Southwest Saskatchewan. "Definitely doing some pre-seeding... just getting going. Some have a fairly significant amount of acreages in, but those are some of the bigger guys, they have to get started earlier."

She believes what is needed now is some warmer temperatures and sunshine so farmers can get back to seeding this years crop.

Chant has heard there is a lot of interest in canola and notes durum prices are quite good lately.
