There's a new charitable club for women in Swift Current called 100 Women Who Care.

Originally formed in the United States - the goal is to sign-up 100 women who are committed to donating $100 to a registered charity, four times a year.

"There are a lot of women who want to make a difference, contribute to our community and help but they don't have the time. That seems to be one commodity that most most moms, most women are short on " said Cindy Reimer, one of the founders of 100 Women Who Care Swift Current chapter, along with Carla Knudsen.

The group met this week at the Akropol Lounge for the first time, focusing on raising money for the Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation and their goal to furnish the new long-term care facility.

Reimer was inspired to form a Swift Current chapter when listening to a recent radio story about the Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation and their goal to furnish the new long-term care facility.

"I heard that radio interview, then I came down and read the Leader Post article and it just wouldn't leave my head, honestly, and my heart. I felt like I just had to do it. I felt that it was meant to be."

The first charity will be to the “A Welcome Home Campaign” c/o The Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation.

"It' huge area that they're actively trying to raise funds for and it was a need - and I think women, in general respond when there's a need," Reimer said.

She says the groups will meet again in a few months to discuss helping another charitable cause.

For those interested in participating, you can visit their Facebook page and drop off registration and a cheque at either The Glass Slipper Spa or Blue Sky Lingerie.
