It was a pitchers' dual for four innings between the 18U AA 57's and Moose Jaw Canucks Wednesday night in the 'Friendly City', but the flood gates burst open in the top of the fifth for Swift Current.

The 57's and Canucks were held off the board, but thanks to an eight-run fifth frame, Swift Current earned a 13-10 victory.

The 18U 57's led 8-0 until the bottom of the sixth, when the Canucks posted a five-run frame. However, Swift Current responded with a five-run effort in the top of the seventh-and-final inning.

Five more runs in the home half was a resilient effort for Moose Jaw, though ultimately not enough to force extras.

Starter Wyatt Harkes shone on the mound for the AA 57's, pitching five innings of three-hit ball, and striking out seven Canucks.

Meanwhile at the plate, Harkes was one of two 18U 57's to post two RBI. He did so on a 2-for-4 night, while Carter Warkentin was 1-for-4 in the multi-RBI effort.

Riley Dekowny racked up a team-high three hits, with Reed Jacobson adding a pair in the win.

The 18U AA 57's are now 2-3 on the season, and are back in action against the Canucks May 22 at Kinsmen Field in Swift Current.
