The most wonderful time of the year will be coming early for those participating in the upcoming 2nd Annual Swift Current Toy Run for the Salvation Army.

The event will be taking place this Saturday, September 25th starting in Gull Lake as one of the organizers Lori Campbell explains.

"We are meeting out at Gull Lake at the curling rink. A bunch of motorcycles will meet out there. Each motorcyclist usually brings a toy donation, monetary donation and there's going to be bins for your perishable food items to donate as well."

Those wishing to participate in the ride should arrive in Gull Lake around 10:30 or 11:00 am on Saturday morning.

Campbell provided some details regarding the event:

"At 11:30 we will all parade into Swift Current. We are going to come in and go down North Railway and then straight up Central. Once we hit the Salvation Army Church we will have a bbq there, a raffle table there and 100% of the proceeds will be going towards the Salvation Army Christmas Campaign."

Those wishing to attend but not participate in the ride are asked to keep their vehicles parked on the street in Gull Lake and leave the parking lot open to provide enough room for social distancing with the bikes involved in the ride.

Anyone wanting more information or wanting to participate can contact Campbell at 306-741-0386 or Ed at 306-741-4958.
