An aggressive storm struck southeast Saskatchewan hard last night, but not before the Swift Current 57's could take an 8-3 win over the Weyburn Beavers in a shortened 7-1/2-inning affair.

After their seven game win streak was snapped Tuesday night, the 57's were able to get the bats going again last night, ripping 11 hits, including two doubles and a homer.

John Sechen had the 57's big fly on the night, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Both doubles came off the bat of Tanner Holen, who also went 2-for-4, adding two RBI.

Tyler Murphy got the start for Swift Current going five innings, allowing two runs on four hits.

Graeme Cherry came in for the sixth frame, allowing a run on one hit.

The game was all tied at 3-3 through six, though the 57's erupted for a five-run top of the seventh for the resounding lead.

Reliever Garrett Alexander was credited with the win, coming in to pitch a scoreless, hitless seventh inning.

The 57's next get to entertain the home crowd tonight at Mitchell Field, playing host to the Medicine Hat Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
