The Hunter Brothers were big winners at this past Saturday's Saskatchewan Country Music Awards.

The brothers from Shaunavon came away with five wins out of the nine categories they were nominated in, including Group of the Year, Fan's Choice Entertainer of the Year, and Interactive Group of the Year.

And Luke Hunter walked away with the Bass Player of the Year award.

Ty Hunter spoke to the newsroom and said, "It just means a tremendous amount to us. I think what's really special about the SCMA Awards is they're local, they're Saskatchewan's country awards. So, it's the people that have helped define and shape you from the inside out. There's that local feeling to it, and so, that's just always a tremendous honor and so we're just very humbled and very grateful."

Hunter added that, while all the awards were special to the, one stood out more than the rest. That was their win for Video of the Year from their song "Hard Dirt".

He said that they are going to be releasing a project for their fans this summer, and are hoping that 2022 will get them back on the road touring live.
