SaskAbilities just had their first kickoff event looking forward to the April 21 Ability Bowl here in Swift Current.

In the afternoon of February 25 at the A.C.T. community park was their first event held leading up to the Ability Bowl. The afternoon consisted of snow zumba, sled bowling, ice skating, horse wagon rides and to warm you up they had chili and hot chocolate.

We had a chance to speak to regional director for the Abilities council Kimi Duzan, and she said that they are always aiming to connect with the community, in anyway that they can.

She said there was something for everyone to do.

"Those that were brave went head first down the hill and crashed into the bowling pins," - Duzan said that was one of the fun events to watch take place. She also mentioned that the snow zumba really brought the energy to the party, and the horse wagon rides are always a huge hit.

The next step is to get your teams together and pledges. There will also be a wing night on April 17 to get people together and get ready for Ability Bowl.
