Swift Current's Ag & Ex are on the hunt for this year's Frontier Days youth ambassador and the deadline is closing in.

Personable, down-to-earth, local teens and young adults ages 16 - 21 can apply for the role before April 15.

Madison Biem, the youth initiatives director with Ag & Ex, is eager to continue this yearly tradition of culture and community.

"The Frontier Days ambassador is a representative of Swift Current and the western way of life here in Swift Current," said Biem.

The selected ambassador attends lead-up events such as the Pancake Breakfast, the Frontier Days events like the Rodeo, and even other events around the southwest or Alta.

"For example, going to Medicine Hat for their rodeo and their Rodeo Royalty Days," Biem added.

Biem notes that they prefer someone with some experience in public speaking, additionally, the ability to ride a horse is an asset, but not a requirement.

"It's a great opportunity, I was able to do it back in 2014 and I made some amazing friends through it and had some of the best experiences of my life," said Biem. "I recommend if you're thinking about doing it, just go for it."

Those interested in signing up can apply on the Ag & Ex website under the ambassador drop-down box in Frontier Days before the deadline.
